Early Fledglings

I've just received a report of 2 Tawny Owl chicks - as usual showing down - which have left a nest in Leighton today. My previous Tawny chick ringing records have always been in early to mid-May, so this pair are quite early and must have started breeding very soon after the bad weather in December.
