Ring Ouzel at Roundton 2nd April
We spent the morning up at Roundton looking for spring ephemeral flowers. I heard the clucking sound and looked up to see a ring ouzel on the crags. Guess it's passing through. It sat there for about 10 seconds, but by the time we switched the hand-lens for binoculars it had flew off. Still, in the chase it led us to a lovely patch of shepherd's-cress. Chiffchaffs too.

Great sighting Alastair - one of my target in camera birds for the year!
ReplyDeleteLake Vyrnwy is great for Ring Ouzel Mark, try the path up to the waterfall, stop before you get to bridge near falls and scan up to the crags on left han side. You would be best to have a scope, but they do appear lower down sometimes.
ReplyDeletecheers Brian - will give that a go - and may even take my wife's scope, could do with a bit more weight in my bag!!!
