Red Grouse @ Glaslyn

Despite the weather, I met up with the Grouse counting group (Howard, Richard, Hillary and their 3 fantastic setters and a pointer dog) to try and get an indication of how many Red Grouse were on the reserve itself.

After a steady start, with just ones and twos being seen we soon started to find a couple of larger coveys: a 5, a 7 and another of 8+ birds! By the end we (the dogs actually) had found 24+ Red Grouse!!

Other birds of interest included 2 Red Kites, 3 Wheatears and several Ravens.

  1. Thanks to all who took part in lousy weather and an encouraging result.
