I will post the last thread of this year on the Dyfi ospreys with a map. Thankfully, all three youngsters made it to west Africa despite a few scares. Over the weekend Einion decided to shoot off westerly over the Atlantic ocean on a non-stop, 29 hour flight, a lot of it in the dark. He travelled 555 miles in that time and after setting off on 10am Saturday, he finally made land again Sunday at 2pm - almost in the exact same spot that he started the previous morning in Dakar, Senegal.

It's been an incredible year for the Dyfi ospreys, two first time breeders producing three eggs, three chicks and three fledglings. It's extremely rare for this to happen. If you would like to follow the ospreys we have a new website just starting..

Also, look out for the new Autumnwatch series starting this Friday, the ospreys are featured throughout the series for all eight programs.

Thanks to all that have visited the project again this year, it's been a pleasure meeting you.

Emyr
