There is movement afoot

Early this morning I walked through a local young fir plantation and and there was a noticeable movement of 'turds' -viz-Turdidae family (do you think I should rephrase that?!) A flock of redwings flew above my head but just a few days ago I saw a loose flock of about a dozen swallows moving through our valley. Evidence indeed of the subtle but obvious transition from late summer into autumn.
There seems to be a sheer abundance of berries for our Scandinavian visitors to feast upon. I just love the sociability and chattering's of a flock of fieldfares in our hedgerows or on our on pasture-land.
