Over the last week the following species have been seen on the feeders or in the garden each day, those being:- Reed Bunting, Blue Tit, Collard Dove, Chaffinch, Greenfinch, Goldfinch, Redpoll, Blackbird, And House Sparrow, Dunnocks have been seen on 5 days, Siskin on 3, Great Tits On 2 with a single sighting of a coal tit this morning, a Blackcap (male) appeared briefly on monday.
Finch's make up the largest numbers of birds seen, with the goldfinch leading the way, Which in comparison to this time last year is completely reversed. Chaffinch's Greenfinch then Goldfinch was the order. Also this year compared to last Redpoll have increased in number most days 6 to 10 seen, but yesterday was a good day for them had a nice little flock in the garden and counted 27, though when they were lifted the count was probably a little higher.
Tits, Athough seeming to have bred well this last year are quite conspicuous by there absence on the feeders . Blue Tits are averaging at 4 birds sighted each time. With as iv'e noted above only 2 visits by Great Tits and 1 by a Coal Tit and no Long Tailed Tits. I just hope somebody else has temped them to there feeders, seeming as so far this winter its been so mild compared to last year.
Been stuck indoors for the last week, Cold/Flu call it what you want, so i'm looking forward to getting out and about again , But once again thanks to the blog I've managed to keep informed as to sightings and activity in the region. Cheers Bloggers.

Hi Kev - reckon I have all your blue and great tits - normally a dozen plus of each around and about and long taileds also here each day, together with a pair of coal tit. Predominant bird tho is the goldfinch - huge numbers of these and the niger is going down a storm - no redpoll as yet here this winter nor have I seen a siskin but there's time!
