COED-Y-DINAS morning

A few more images of the 'Scaup'. Looking at several books it certainly has many characteristics of a Scaup as against a Tufted, but will let the experts decide.

There was also a nice male Shoveler on the lake.

  1. Toughie this isn't it? Looks a spit for the 1st winter males in a couple of books but then I talk myself into it being a Tuftie - but there's no tuft, it has that 'tooth' and you can see the first signs of the white around the bill beginning to appear - although female tufties also have that - hmm. Maybe it's hang around until Spring so we can be sure???
