Very cold in hide today, and no new species seen on the lake. A pair of Goosander did show up late afternnon and looked lovely in the low sun.
On the feeders were many Bluetits, Great-tits, Chaffinch, with a pair of Reedbuntings on the ground.
A very agile Goldcrest was seen, as were a pair of Bullfinches and a Dunnock.
A visit to Ceri Ridge produced very little apart from a single female Crossbill, with others flying over.
Lovely goldie - where was that? Will nip into the hide tomorrow first thing before heading back down to the Elan valley
ReplyDeleteMark, the Goldcrest was showing both sides of hide, the photo was taken on left side with the bird well into the brambles. The only trouble is the apple tree etc which tends to throw the focus out very quickly, or the focus hunts both in single shot and continuous modes owing to the multitude of small branches, manual focus may be the answer, but the bird moves about so fast.Let us know if you see Scaup.
ReplyDeleteCheers Brian and will do - what's going on with this comment stuff, weird formatting and slightly odd time (assume we're now on Californian time??)
