A 1st winter drake Scaup was present on the lake this afternoon.
Could do with Mark or Brian down there with there big lenses to get some decent pics just to prove that it's a pure Scaup (a lot of aythya hibrids about these days!!).

Paul I will try to get down tomorrow morning with the camera.I mentioned to Chris this evening that I had seen an odd bird right at back of lake on a horizontal branch, but it had a light breast rather like a an adult winter Goldeneye. Hope I can get the right bird!Any help would be appreciated if its still there in morning
