A surprise today when I notice a very unusual 'bird' flying in front of the hide, it displayed in front of the hide and then moved down the left side of the lake, and came back to the hide. It was at this point when another bat joined it for a while before disappearing into the top of the hide! This all happened at about 3pm in sunshine, perhaps they hyave just come out of hibernation and were young.
A Common Snipe was about, two Great Crested Grebe and a Little-Ringed Plover. A Chiffchaff was singing on the path, and a couple of Lesser Black-backed Gulls appeared. Others included a single Wigeon, Tufted, several Lapwing and very few Mallard, two Grey Heron, about 2 dozen Jackdaw and the usual Canada.
