I awoke this morning at `Moat Farm` in the Rhiew Valley with the intention of enjoying some birding in the early sunshine? mmm!!!!, rain and plenty of it. BUT I soon realised why I love this county so much. The sounds of a neaby Curlew came floating through my bedroom window joined by a Greater Spotted Woodpecker sounding off in a nearby tree. I put the kettle on (07. 30hrs) gazed out at my feeders and saw a busy `pair` of siskin on the niger. A good start to a rainy morning, bring on the sunshine.
