Thanks for your company Phil. Species included Snipe, Sparrowhawk, male Goosander, Little-ringed Plover, G C Grebes, Wigeon at least 4, 3 Ostercatchers, pair Reed Bunting, Teal, Heron, Tufted, Lapwing, 2 Pied Wagtail, and from the carpark a circling Red Kite.

  1. Know am like a stuck record but I'm amazed the snipe have survived so long with no cover - both birds were moving around in open view today for more than an hour, hunkering down in no cover and being exposed to the elements - delighted to pick up the two today and long may they persist

  2. Great shots. Later on, a pair of Bullfinch and a Chiffchaff between the hide and the car park.

  3. Its nice to have at least 2 Snipe Mark, and in a close position.

The path leading to and from the hide is always good for the warblers, perhaps we should spend a little more time there. It would make a fantastic area for a small woodland hide with feeders.

  4. Good idea Brian but if the trust put a few feeders up they won't build another hide that will be the only update for the site for a while.
