A trip to Llandinam Gravels

Went to check out Llandinam Gravels today and really not to sure what to make of it nothing really there that i saw to get excited about but maybe later in the year this will change, have never seen anything posted on here from there though so maybe not a great sign. This year i want to get around all of the trust reserves though so thought i would check this out first. Birds seen were 3 Heron 4 Goosander ( 2F 2M ) Mallard, 1 Snipe, Great Tit, Blue Tit, Coal Tit, Pied Wagtail, Wren, Goldcrest, 8 Buzzards, 3 Kites.

From there thought i would check out the Herons in this picture there are 12 Herons, hard to see but 12 for sure and the 3 i saw at Llandinam were flying towards Newtown so at least these are doing well.

Forgot to mention in my earlier post that 2 Grey Wagtails were at LCyD today

  1. Another reserve I must go to Phil, the Heron shot is quite interesting, could be worth a follow up.

  2. No hides there Brian But think it will be a good spot for plovers, dont know if you can get closer to the herons would be interesting to get there early or late to see just how many there are.
