Early morning at Dyfnant Meadows

A couple of nice birds seen during this morning's breeding bird survey at Dyfnant Meadows Nature Reserve. Spotted Flycatcher (my first ever!) foraging at SH999156. Grasshopper Warbler heard singing at SH996154. Both outside the reserve boundary, but only just. Also heard plenty of Redstarts during the survey.

    I haven't heard a Grasshopper Warbler for many years. A pair used to nest near my then home in Llanmerewig. 40+ years ago.
