ok thanks both - the image was taken yesterday by my nephew, by a lake in `Victoria` - Australia. It is a Lesser Pied Cormorant. What was amusing were the possible moorhens and coot in the same shot.

ReplyDeleteAlso known as the Little Shag/ Kawau Paka in New Zealand Trevor, the small bill is its notable different. Have not seen one at Coed-y-dinas though!
