On the feeder

A couple of fantastic new visitors to the feeder this week.  On Thursday morning, a pair of Nuthatch and a pair of Coal Tit showed up.  It was a long wait until the weekend when I had some free time to get some pictures!  The Coal Tits have been around for the last four day, regularly collecting seed, both eating it on the feeder and in the trees around the garden.  The Nuthatches were collecting seed, hiding it amongst the brick walls, loose stone, and even moss on the ground.  The rest of the time, it took seed away across the fields, which is when we lost sight of it.  I guess this is expected behaviour with winter approaching, but just wonderful to have these birds in the garden!

    Lovely - have had Nuthatch all year as you'll have seen from earlier posts but Coal Tit have just started to reappear - cracking little birds and well captured
