I guess the Redwing etc will be moving further into urban areas as the berries reduce in n umber.
ReplyDeleteI think so Brian, they certainly seem to be moving across the region rapidly. Apparently we should be putting apples on sticks out for the Waxwing that are arriving, since although our berry crop is better than Scandanavia this year it is only average.
ReplyDeleteAre the redwing etc still about at LCYD? - I am looking for a good place to draw them and the hide would be perfect.
I did not see any yesterday Chris, the problem is the birds are hidden by branches and leaves.
ReplyDeleteThanks Brian, I'm due a visit anyway, so maybe see you up there soon.
ReplyDeleteThe big flocks certainly seem to have moved through but they have to feed somewhere - problem is they now seem to be well dispersed, around a dozen of each Redwing & Fieldfare around the Sewage Works today Chris. Keep you posted with further sightings
