The Garden

The last few days in the Garden has seen a big increase in birds has anyone else noticed this?

3 Redpoll always early in the morning don't see them for the rest of the day.

30+ Siskin my Niger seed is taking a hammering.

The Starlings are dropping in numbers now will be sad to see these go.

10 Goldfinch these keep their distance when I am in the Garden.

My new Robin had the misfortune of having to watch this one kill the usual one.

60+ House Sparrow these only come to the garden to drink as they prefer next doors seed.

The friendly Dunnock sits on the end of the camera and takes seed from the hand.

  1. We're getting increased numbers of Goldfinch and Chaffinch at the moment. The record was 20 Goldfinch around the feeder (8 on it, and the other 12 picking up fallen seed). Starlings have dropped in number, but a few eat from the coconut halves. The numbers of Tits, Robins, Sparrows, and Dunnocks havn't fluctuated much. I'd love to see a picture of the Dunnock eating from the hand!
