Lapwings and white wagtails
On the way back from Newtown to Meifod this eve, I pulled the car over at a field I found a pair of lapwing at the end of last May. I watched 7 lapwing this time, some sitting in the middle of the open field with rushy patches nearby whilst others were flitting around and chasing each other, with competitive song-flights. There were also a pair of white wagtails M. alba alba in the same field. Glad I stopped. Will keep an eye on it and see what happens.
