marsh harrier

had to rub my eyes this morning , on arrival at Dolydd hafren  a male marsh harrier came cruising over the reserve then proceded to disappear back from where it came from heading roughly towards Marton , also on the reserve today were 3 garden warblers , 4 little ringed plovers , 1 common sandpiper , 1 lesser whitethroat in the triangle before the first hide and a female kestrel was also nice to see .

  2. That's a cracking find John - hmm, heading towards Marton, I wonder! When Ken called me and told me I 1) had to check the date and 2) question whether he'd been drinking!

  4. Yeah it's an odd one - not a bird you expect to find round here with no marshes/reads. Shame they drained the Camlad 50 years or so back!
