Not-ingale @ Llanfyllin

The Nightingale reported this morning in a private wood south of Llanfyllin is being reconsidered.

The recording made in the (lashing!) rain and (storm-force!) wind is insufficient to clinch the species and Song Thrush is a major candidate... in fact... it is a Song Thrush. Some people would be kind and say it's a Song Thrush impersonating a Nightingale... others wouldn't!

  2. Wow - fantastic news, Mike. Coupled with the turtle dove at Morben Isaf, it's a pretty good time for Mont birds and birders at the moment!

  3. Great news Mike. A few of my family had great views and heard a Nightingale at land opposite the Breidden P H in Middletown about 15 years ago, but no blog in those days!
