LCYD Monday 22 September

Only my 3rd visit to LCYD this year with the other 2 visits producing nothing, yesterday was a welcome change.

2 Little Grebes were active most of the day and fishing on the right hand side

9 Lapwing were present

2 Green Sandpiper were active most of the time I was there

8 Heron were around the reserve with 4 near the hide,
I think this was a Juvenile as it only caught 1 fish in the 3 hours it was active and stayed by the hide most of the time.

2 Snipe came out to feed periodically

The Male Kingfisher came in twice and caught a fish each time.
It came in briefly with another bird but not sure of the sex of the second bird

Lots of Migrant Hawkers still about

  1. Great shot of the dragonfly, Phil, which BTW is a Migrant Hawker. Nice one!
