Chiffchaff on Wern

After a hard overnight frost, the birds were hungry and quite varied this morning on the Wern. Highlights for me were 2 goldcrests and a chiffchaff, each of which were 'hovering' beneath foliage and apparently pecking at insects or something tasty on the leaves. I've seen this before with goldcrests but not noticed it with chiffchaffs - also haven't seen one as late as this here before. The kestrel is still around, although it didn't show up this morning.

    Indeed, and blackcap in Montgomery too. Very quiet around Llanidloes right now. There are goldcrest but I can't hear them!
