Redstarts seem to be much more common than in previous years around Middletown. To see or hear them locally, we used to have to go up Moel-y-Golfa. Now I'm finding them everywhere in hedgerows with a few mature trees.
Siskins are dominating our niger feeders. We have at least 8, including two streaky grey juveniles, so they must have bred locally.
