12 X grey heron flown in doing reconnaissance mission on line of conifers in Coed y Bryn woodland (Welshpool). This is the annual nesting spot for 2-4 birds normally.

  1. Interesting observation. I live close by, and believe this small heronry started when there was major disturbance at the next nearest colony at Buttington Brickworks, probably about 8 years ago?

    1. Yes Chris that would certainly explain it. I am lucky to be able to see them from my garden and they are a delight - if a bit noisy now and again.
