Garden Visitors

We're fortunate to live quite close the Peregrines posted on this blog in the last few days, and as the young birds start exploring their surroundings and establishing their social order, it is a great time to watch them. In previous years we've been awoken at 5 in the morning to the youngsters fighting on next doors roof and regularly see them practising their hunting skills by chasing the hirundines. Not more than 10 minutes after getting home from work, I hear the familiar sound of screeching Peregrines, only much louder than normal. I look out the window to see 2 juveniles dog fighting around the garden; an exhilarating sight! One of the birds perched up for a few minutes allowing for a few pictures before flying off back to its siblings.
