Llyn Coed y Dinas

Very quiet morning on the reserve this morning. The water remains high, submerging the small island and muddy banks in front of the hide. Single male Kingfisher made a brief appearance along with a pair of Little Grebe. Only one Heron and one Reed Warbler seen. Excitement peaked with the arrival of six Lapwing, who were swiftly relegated to the floating island due to the high waters. There were a few ducks on the water, mostly Mallard with a few Tufted and Teal in the mix. Three Swallows were hunting above the water but did not stick around.
