Time-sharing with a Kingfisher

I am trying to carry out remedial flood-defence work on the garden pond in Middletown, but am not alone in wanting to use the habitat. A male Kingfisher has been coming for breakfast each morning, so I make sure he has the time he needs. Now, while clearing up this afternoon, I saw that further compromise is required. A second Kingfisher flew in and was immediately chased off by our resident bird. In September and October we had a Dipper on the stream too, but it seems to have moved on.
