7 warbler species in 3 hours

My morning walk around Middletown covered a variety of habitats, with seven warbler species seen or heard: both whitethroats, Chiffchaff, Blackcap, Willow, Garden and Wood Warblers. I was especially happy to see the Wood which I don't find every year. It was very territorial, singing constantly and chasing a Treecreeper twice round a tree. Also clocked were Pied Flycatcher, Tree Pipit, at least six Redstart males singing, Red Kite and Peregrine.

  2. Would love to hear even the tiniest snatch of Wood Warbler song this year - lucky you!
