Floats Like an Egyptian
Reported on 21st by Jeny Heard, an Egyptian Goose was still present today at Llyn Coed-y-Dinas, amongst 900-1000 Canada geese, which were uneasy due to an Otter patrolling at the far end of the lake. The adult and juvenile Great Crested Grebe remain, together with 20 Wigeon, 35 Teal and 20 Tufted Ducks. The Great White Egret can disappear from view into the reedbeds for many minutes, before raising its head again.

Good stuff! I'm assuming that the hide is still closed to the public?
ReplyDeleteYes, sorry Edd and everyone else. Cleaning surfaces would be a nightmare, and we all want to linger in a hide if there is something about. I pop in occasionally to check the building, (and it would be rude not to see what's about!)
ReplyDeleteThanks Chris, I just wanted to make sure before making a trip down there. Not a bad little trio of Otter, Great White Egret and Egyptian Goose to pop in for!
DeleteEgyptian Goose still there today, and visible from the gap by the information board on the path around the orchard. Didn't see the otter - would have loved to though!
