At a site meeting yesterday involving Chris Townsend, Rob Haigh and myself, we discussed the possibility of a raised platform with an American-style 'blind' in the area of the picnic table near the Teaching Area shelter, but closer to the lake. We envisage a roofed structure with viewing slots at various heights to observe the wildlife without being seen. This would be much less expensive than a raised hide, and easier to maintain. It would also be able to remain open at all times, with disabled access. Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust is optimistic that funds for such a project will be available next year. Thanks to Tammy Stretton for helpful input.
