Recent news from the Whats App Group

 The first Chiffchaff was reported at Pwll Penarth MWT Reserve by Jude Duffy on 27 Feb, (though some may have been lurking quietly during the winter in the county).   

Pat Powell has been busy photographing and ringing Siskins in Llangadfan, with groups of 40+ several times on 25 Feb. Below is one of the males:

There have been many other reports of Siskin flocks from round the county too. 

Meanwhile, Dave Lister has had 100 Brambling at his reserve at Mochdre this last week, including this male:

and this strange-looking leucistic Brambling

 

Liz Roberts reports 57 Curlews flying into Dolydd Hafren on 27 Feb. 

Finally, 40+ egrets sp.  were feeding close to the A483, just south of Belan as Paul Leafe was driving past this morning, but exact identities were not established! Thanks to all observers and photographers.
