Grey Phalarope in Cefn Coch
This juvenile Grey Phalarope was photographed at the private lake of the Red Ridge Outdoor Centre in Cefn Coch today. Unfortunately it was disturbed and flew off. It's a great rarity for the county, though not a first. Grey Phalaropes nest in the High Arctic, and are usually coastal on migration. Many thanks to Kay Richardson for the photo, and to Tom Woodington for the information.
