A visit to Cors Dyfi this afternoon and thankfully the signs of Spring are finally here. The small birds on the feeders looked gorgeous in their new breeding plumage, bullfinch and snipe were around on the reserve as were the calls of many waders, curlew, oystercatchers and common sands I picked up. Red kites and a peregrine also made an appearance as did a rather bold heron on one of the pools.
Frogs and Toads have been laying their spawn too and this particular warty follow allowed me to get quite near him for a photo opportunity.
Our ospreys should be leaving their African wintering grounds around now so hopefully the cross-winds won't be to unkind. A very happy Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Sant/St. Davids Day to all.
