DOLYDD HAFREN (PM)

I think i must have been following mark about today.Had only enough time this afternoon to visit the first hide, but was rewarded with some good sightings of birds close to the hide. Those being :- 14 Teal, 2 Shovelors ( m/f), 2 Mallard, 1 Gadwell (m), 2 Snipe, 60+ Curlew, 2 Oystercatcher, 20+ Canada Geese,
1 Great Crested Grebe, 2 Buzzards, 1 Kestral and too many of the crow family to count. The smaller birds were at a premium this afternoon with only 2 Blue Tits and 5 Chaffinch's seen.

Called in LCyD on the way back, you can tell that the Black Headed Gulls have returned by the noise as soon as you get out of the car. Apart from what Mark reported on the blog i counted 160+ B H Gulls most of which were on the large island.

  1. Interesting how the numbers of Canadas seems to have plummeted - wonder if someone's 'doing some work' on them?
