2019 Montgomeryshire County Bird Report

Last year's County Bird Report is now available to read and download! Just click on the link County Reports (above). It's the first Bird Report I've produced; and I have a list of acknowledgements - many thanks to all observers who sent in records. I couldn't have written it without you all; and without the superb photos that illustrate it.

Our wonderful photographers deserve a mention by name: many thanks to Mark Wilson, Meurig Garbutt, Chris Townsend, Edd Cottell, Brian Pollard, Sue Southam, Edward O'Connor and David Lister. David is responsible for this Barn Owl image which I chose as this year's cover photo.

Finally, many thanks to Mike Haigh for starting me on the county bird recorder's journey, for initiating the Bird Blog, for proof-reading and for uploading this report. Mike hopes to have the 2018 report ready later this year.

Please keep sending in your records, either directly to the blog, or to me at montbird@gmail.com

  3. Simon deserves a sincere vote of thanks from all Monty birders for taking on the job of Recorder, and has produced an excellent, eminently readable, report, which I really enjoyed. It merits a wide readership.
